About Us: Prospect 33, has been retained by a prominent Buy Side firm headquartered in Manhattan to conduct a search for a Chief Operating Officer (COO). Our client is a recognized leader in the financial industry, committed to delivering outstanding results to clients and driving sustainable growth. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced COO to join their team.
Job Description:
As the COO, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the organization. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will collaborate closely with the executive team to ensure the successful execution of business objectives. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and oversee all aspects of operations, with a focus on optimizing processes, enhancing productivity, and driving sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Develop and execute the company’s operational strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.
Streamline and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Implement best practices and industry standards to drive operational excellence.
Financial Management:
Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial controls.
Risk Management:
Assess and mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
Develop and implement risk management strategies and protocols.
Ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Team Leadership:
Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the operations team.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Recruit, train, and develop talent to support the company’s growth.
Technology and Infrastructure:
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the financial industry.
Drive technology initiatives to enhance operational capabilities.
Ensure the maintenance and reliability of IT infrastructure.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
Collaborate with client-facing teams to ensure exceptional service delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Compliance and Regulation:
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to uphold the company’s integrity.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
Proven experience in a Director level role within a Buy Side firm or financial institution.
Strong understanding of financial markets, products, and investment strategies.
Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and manage complex projects.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
